Most Common Foods To Avoid
There are many foods to avoid to stay healthy. Certainly, there are at least a few that are seriuosly damaging and should be avoided at all cost. Any foods containing preservatives are the ones that are easiest to spot. There are others, however, that should be avoided, and yet, are not so easily found.
IF THE FOOD INGREDIENT HAS INITIALS, IT IS PROBABLY NOT GOOD & HEALTHY.
We’ve compiled a list of basic “foods to avoid” with ingredients containing the following:
Glyphosate – (Roundup) Enemy Number 1 – This stuff is toxic and stacks up in the water table. It doesn’t go away and it is poisoning all the animals on planet Earth…includng humans!!
HFCS – (High Fructose Corn Syrup) At least 98% of HFCS has been genetically modified. And, it’s in almost everything! Do you really want to consume that much GMO in your diet?
Dyacetyl (Artificial Butter Flavoring) They add the stuff to cheap white wine too. Oh, since it’s a byproduct of fermentation, that don’t have to put it on the label…Only buy good vintage wine!
BHA – Preservatives found in potato chips, lard, butter, cereal, instant mashed potatoes, preserved meat, beer, baked goods, dry beverage and dessert mixes, etc. The oxidative characteristics and/or metabolites of BHA may contribute to carcinogenicity or tumorigenicity. Yucky Stuff!
BTA – Preservatives The oxidative characteristics and/or metabolites of BHT may contribute to carcinogenicity or tumorigenicity.
Sodium Phosphate (Nitrites) Sodium phosphate can cause serious kidney damage and possibly death. In some cases, this damage is permanent!
Sodium Nitrate(Nitrites) Sodium nitrate is a preservative that’s used in some processed meats, such as bacon and luncheon meats. Sodium nitrate may damage your blood vessels, making your arteries more likely to harden and narrow, leading to heart disease. Nitrates may also affect the way your body uses sugar, making you more likely to develop diabetes.
Aspartame (Artificial Sweeteners) – A study funded by Monsanto to study possible birth defects caused by consuming aspartame was cut off after preliminary data showed damaging information about aspartame. In 1981, an FDA statistician stated that the brain tumor data on aspartame was so “worrisome” that he could not recommend approval of NutraSweet.
MSG It is derrived from nature, so it is also labelled as “natural flavoring”. Short-term reactions to MSG are usually mild and don’t require treatment. Something’s not right in Denmark, or in your Chinese food!
Food Colorings They look nice, but they are damaging to your body. A study by the United Kingdom’s Food Standards Agency in 2007 showed that the consumption of foods containing dyes could increase hyperactive behavior in children. That’s enough to make you stop and think, right?
Sulfur Dioxide – A simple enough additive, but not if you’re asmatic. Dried fruits such as raisins, dried apricots and prunes contain Sulfur dioxide. It is one type of sulfite, a preservative whose name might be more familiar. Even a small amount of sulfite can wreak health havoc if you’re sensitive to it. If you have asthma, sulfite sensitivity or sulfite allergy, eating dried fruits might cause serious health problems, including breathing problems, life-threatening allergy-like symptoms or, in rare cases, death.
Potassium Bromate – It is also illegal in the European Union, Canada, Brazil and elsewhere because it causes cancer in rats and mice. In the United States, however, it has remained legal since it was first patented for use in baking bread, in 1914.
